Jamey Heit currently studies Religion and Literature at Glasgow University in the UK. In addition to his work on Islamic and Christian poetry, he studies the ways in which popular culture and religious communities intersect. He is the author of three books, the most recent of which is The Springfield Reformation.
Of particular interest is the ways in which television, music, and other contemporary media appeal to those within religious communities as an alternative to “traditional” forms of religious expression and reflection.
He enjoys traveling the world with his wife, reading, writing, and enjoying a good cup of coffee or a glass of wine (recommendations always welcome…).
